2008 Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?
The 2008 Sweepstakes Marketing Co-op is a marketing program for photographers belonging to Professional Photographers of America (PPA) or the Society of Sport & Event Photographers (SEP). The program is built around three different sweepstakes, with each one designed for a specific market (high school seniors, bridal couples, and family & children portrait customers). However, as long as the person meets the eligibility requirements (see the Rules), anyone can enter.

What does the Co-op have to do with me if I'm not a photographer?
You can enter the sweepstakes that the Co-op members offer, and have an opportunity to win some fantastic prizes. Please click here to see a list of participating photographers. Simply contact them to learn more.

Why is there such a hard deadline?
The legal requirements for a sweepstakes state that the contest must begin and end at the same time for all consumers. For that reason, the participating photographers cannot accept entries before March 1, 2008, or after November 14, 2008.

Do I have to purchase some photos or book an appointment to enter?
No. Because of legal requirements, no purchase can be required. However, a potential client must contact a participating member photographer to enter.

How about legal requirements?
We are taking care of the legal and registration requirements in all 50 states. Participating photographers are following the rules of the contest, which can be found on this website. Please remember to view the 2008 rules specific to the sweepstakes you enter.

When will the contest run?
The start date for all three is March 1, 2008—that is the first date you can enter. The end dates for all three is November 14, 2008.

Why isn’t there a sweepstakes specifically for sports teams/events?
Although we are looking into this possibility for future sweepstakes, we are unable to provide such at this time. However, you might enter the other sweepstakes if you meet the eligibility requirements in the Rules.

Am I eligible to enter?
Please read the Rules for the sweepstakes you want to enter. Eligibility requirements are listed there.

How do I enter?
Visit or contact a participating photographer. They will explain how they can take your entry. You must go through one of these photographers, but you are not required to buy anything.
